Lifeguard Team Takes Top Honors

 Last week a team
of our lifeguards participated in the Northeast Regional Lifeguard
Competition, sponsored by Ellis Associates. They earned the top score
of all parks & pools in New York State, and won 3rd place overall
in the competition. Big congratulations go out to the whole crew (from
left: Brett Maley, Kat Roth, Coach Ben David, Liz Maroni and Joe Plukas).
Way to go team! Now on to the Nationals in Chicago!

nights in July, the WBEE 92.5FM van has been rolling onto the Midway
- loaded with on-air personalities and crew, fun contests and prizes,

Edward Long --
He's Got a Ticket to Ride

Neighbor
Fran Schneeberger brought us this 1900's ride ticket. It says
"Good for One Ride, 5 Cents" and "every body rides,
young & old, big or little". On the carousel's rounding
board are the words "Edward Long, Manufacturer, Phila." That's
the name of the patriarch of the family, who first started building
carousels in 1876 - making the Long family one of the oldest families
still in the amusement business today.
